14. Don’t get sick in Germany
In the first few months of moving to Germany I had a horrible case of vertigo and landed in the German Hospital, now I really can’t complain because we lived in Baden-Baden which was one of the nicest places to live for Germans over 60, it’s a place of Spas and Walkers. The doctors were nice, the hospital was clean and the only thing the only gripe I had was I almost shared a hospital room with another German whose husband started smoking in the balcony, we begged for another room and ended up paying extra for a private room, which was no problem! It was difficult communicating with them since I had just moved to Germany and boy were they thorough, they gave me every test in the book, MRI, Catscan, bloodwork, endoscopy, etc etc..I was forced to stay 4 days stuck with CNN only, but it was a nice hospital. But definitely would not want to go through it again. It’s scary staying in a hospital wondering what you have, its scarier being in a hospital in a foreign country.
